Whilst ‘keeping up with Jones’s’ can be all about appearances, maintaining positive relationships with your ‘neighbors’ is far greater and positive endeavor. The building that Lumeria is situated on, the Frederick Baldwin Memorial Home, has such deep rooted connections for people on Maui that we consider them all as neighbors. We are so humbled when visitors to the property from the bygone era drop by and share their stories with us. We have written about this before in a previous post, but to add the connection as a neighbor has created a deeper relationship that we have grown to appreciate. There is so much to learn from our elders; those from which we inherit the responsibility to not only take care of the Aina (land), by also for each other. Random acts of kindness, the simple things, often send out the largest reverberations. We love opening our doors at Lumeria and remain committed to the principle, “Love Thy Neighbor.” See you in the hood! Aloha & Respect!
