Comparable to Prine, the humble and gracious Craigie is one of the best storytellers of our time. It’s no wonder that Chuck Norris sends him fan mail, and Todd Snider brings him gifts on stage. The vagabond troubadour has charmed audiences in all 50 states and much of Europe, with a DIY spirit seldom seen these days. While touring solo and with the likes of Todd Snider, the Shook Twins, Nicki Bluhm, and ALO, Craigie has taken the stage at festivals, sold out venues, intimate house concerts, center camp at Burning Man and even Gregory Alan Isakov’s farm.
Wooden Crate’s Chef, Ben Diamond, will serve a three course organic garden to table feast with ingredients foraged from the Lumeria garden and neighboring farms. This event will sell out based on our previous Wooden Crate Cabaret success.

Peace comes from within. Buddha~
In order to find peace in the chaos of life, we are directed to turns inwards. The body is the key to unlocking freedom and liberation. The 5Rhythms® moving meditation teaches mindful awareness of the body. We will learn how to track energy as it moves through us, expanding our capacity to sustain present time awareness. In learning this skill you will have a method to return home with and practice in your daily life. Inspiration and healing can be cultivated as one surrenders to what is.
The 5Rhythms are a method of maps that demonstrate how energy moves. In five parts, it shows us the patterns, rhythms, and cycles of life. Flowing connects us to our feminine nature. Staccato connects us to our masculine. Chaos unifies and integrates these two energies. As a result we find transformation in Lyrical. From the space of change we are delivered into the rhythm of Stillness. The nature of the stillness dance invites connection and integration.
In this workshop we will integrate the stillness of Buddhist mindfulness meditation with the moving meditations of the 5Rhythms®. The Buddha encouraged us to bring wise attention to every aspect of our lives.
In sitting meditation, we have the opportunity to observe the mind and body at rest through silent introspection. In the dharma talks and meditation practices we’ll learn how meditation can help us create a safe container for emotions to arise and pass in the body; providing tools for emotion understanding, regulation and communication. We’ll also explore interpersonal tools for skillfully expressing emotions both verbally and non-verbally. In the practice of the 5Rhythms, we engage in mindfulness while in motion. The 5Rhythms is a map that teaches us how energy moves. As we experience being mindful in both moving and stillness, we open the door to becoming present and free.
